The loud “Woo”‘s heard in Wapping yesterday, 1st September helped raise £1,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
“Wapping Rocks!” says John who organised the fundraising event who adds ”it was not just saying thank you to donations, but the chats and cheers were so fantastic”.
The group, who all work for MITIE Client Services at Canary Wharf regularly raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and came up with the idea of a fancy dress charity walk to St Katharine Docks and back – passing through Wapping twice.
Over £1,500 was raised from sponsorship and donations collected along the route.
Tweets yesterday asked what all the “Woo”‘s were all about and initially we had no idea, but just managed to catch up with them on their way back and made the group stop for a quick group picture in Wapping High Street:
Great Ormond Street Hospital has helped so many families in Wapping and we want to say our own special thank you “Woo” to the group and wish them all very best in their future fundraising.
