One of the best places in London to live and visit. It`s like you are in a countryside.

Comments now closed but we’ll add a new article as soon as we have details of the official opening early August!

Congratulations john, and great news! Enjoy your honeymoon.
John
Being Scottish I think it’s imperative that alcohol should be available freely about Wapping. And if it was literally free then all the better.

Really looking forward to this – just what Wapping needs as there’s a big gap between the Prospect of Whitby and the other Wapping pubs so a perfect location
Dan
Good news for you and all of us! Looking forward to the grand (re)opening!
Caitriona
Really looking forward to the opening! New to Wapping and don’t know anyone in the area so this looks like a good opportunity to support your business which is a great local initiative and to meet like-minded locals!
Brock
I approve Look forward to trying it out…
Yvonne
Great news!

We would like to announce that our Wine Bar License has been ‘Provisionally Approved’ and as long as there are no objections Today 12/07/2010, it will be formally approved by wednesday. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and took the time to write on this wonderful new resource for Wapping. We hope to see you all at the Grand Opening of the Wine Bar in the near future (opening date to be arranged).
Derian
Best of luck for the licence John! I think it’s a great idea, and completely trust what you say about working with the residents.
Adrian
Great idea. I hope you are successful.
See you at the opening launch party!

Hi all i wanted to tke the time to thank everyone for there support since i took over as an independent from the old winerack shop on garnet street,as most of you know i have been here
as the store manager for the past 10 years and could not just walk away when we lost our jobs
so i decided to take it over by myself, and im gratefull for the support you have all shown me not only over the past 10 years but the past 6 months espically. So thank you.
We hope to hear on monday 12/07/2010n if the license to open a WINE BAR to the rear of the shop as been granted, fingers crossed.if granted the opening times for thw wine bar will be
sunday to thursday 11am to 10pm friday and saturday 11am to 10.30pm.
I know that letter where sent out to local residents saying we had applied for license until gone 23hrs NOT TRUE.
i WOULD LIKE IT TO BE KNOWN IF THERE IS ANY ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR OR PROBLEMS I WILL REVERT TO 22.00 CLOSE EVERY NIGHT UNLIKE THE COSTCUTTERS WHO WANT TO SELL FROM 7AM UNTIL 23.OO.i HAVE WORKED WITH RESIDENTS OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS
AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.
A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE
JOHN.

Great idea. I hope that our dearly beloved Council, having ignored residents’ opposition to Costcutter last night, will allow the application for the wine bar to go ahead. Bets, anyone?
Helen
Yes, after all this building used to be a pub . Might be nice and it wouldn’t worry me but then I don’t live next door or over the road, those residents should decide.
Stuart
This is a great idea. Something modern but tasteful would be perfect

I think it’s a good idea and I will happy to enjoy a glass of two of Cava in there. Since it changed hands my mother has always commented “that should have a wine bar at the front” – now, hopefully, it will have!
