We absolutely love this awesome snowman who was made in Wapping down by the canal!

The snow’s melted, but he was caught on camera by Wapping resident Mr Topp (blogs at www.mrtopp.com and follow on Twitter @mrtopp)

Heard that you can order them from Hussy’s in Wapping Lane!

Almost certainly Watney Market, from the flower stall who are there on Saturdays – forget which other days (Fridays?). Walking distance for most. Best to pop up and ask them in advance when they are getting the trees in. There’s also a florist opposite the main entrance to the market on Commecial Rd – they might stock them. Again, ask.

Columbia Road market? Easy to get there by overground, though  it might be a challenge to carry a tree up the steps at Wapping station!

  • rooney

Anyone know where I can get an Xmas tree near Wapping now the florist has closed?

Thanks for the recommendation – also suggested by others so have added it to the page and mentioned Gastronomica’s great cakes too :)

  • wappingHappy

You have Gastronomica listed under restaurants – they also have all kinds of lovely deli stuff too (ham, cheese etc), and great croissants and bread for sale if you get up early enough

  • WappingHappy

Guilty as charged for helping lengthen the queue a little while ago by being part of a fascinating and educational explanation from the gentleman in charge (is he Mr Hussey?) on the difference between lamb and hoggett, and how you could tell by looking at the fat.

I can definitely recommend Husseys for Christmas meat, but the queues can so long
Not a complaint as they are excellent quality and make a real effort to find the best. So worth the wait but make sure you allow time for waiting since you won’t be able to just pop in and pick up your turkey!
