Cockney Heritage Festival – a Wapping Launch Night (on until 27 July)

It’s the Cockney Heritage Festival 2013, celebrating cockney history, culture and traditions and it’s on until 27th July 2013.

Launch night yesterday evening, 18th July in nearby Stepney Green was just the start and there’s over 50 events during the course of the festival.

Organised by the Cockney Heritage Trust and Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives, the ten day celebration promises to be a right old knees up.

The History of Wapping Trust joined in and Ray reminds everyone to come along to some of the events and learn more about the history of our wonderful area.

Ray will be guiding history walks down memory lane today at 1pm (meet at Wapping Overground) and 1pm next Friday, 26th July (meet at Shadwell Overground).

Henrietta Keeper – the beautiful singer with a big voice

The Cockney Heritage Festival 2013 celebrates Cockney history and culture and is organised by the Cockney Heritage Trust and Tower Hamlets Local History Library and Archives.

So put your best knees up and join in the celebration of our East End.
